About Us
SchoolWideRead(SWR) is a teacher-created program fostering critical literacy engagement and school culture r/evolution in educational spaces. Founded by the dynamic educator duo, Zena Robinson-Wouadjou & Vanessa Emile, SchoolWideRead serves middle and high school communities throughout the New York Tri-State area and educational leaders across the country.
The SWR model creates a Culturally Responsive, Healing-Centered framework for BUILDING a culture of scholarship, communal solution-building & social justice through school-wide critical literacy engagement. In addition to improving academic outcomes for students, SchoolWideRead utilizes a restorative approach that centers the well-being of each member of the school community. Our curriculum design and facilitation services are customized to address the specific literacy, cultural, social-emotional learning, and community engagement needs of youth and adults in each of our partnering schools/ organizations.
